FED:Avoid rallies at wedding: DFAT

CANBERRA, April 28 AAP - Australia's foreign affairs department has warned visitors
to London for the royal wedding to avoid rallies as they may turn violent.

Official advice posted on the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website says
the royal wedding may see "some protest activity".

"You should avoid all protests and demonstrations as they may turn violent," the department
advises.

"There will be heightened security provisions in place. You should follow the advice
and instructions of local authorities at all times."

But the overall advice - to "exercise caution and monitor developments that might affect
your safety in the United Kingdom because of the risk of terrorist attack" - has not changed.

Intelligence figures say the UK remains a potential target for terrorist activity,
with major attacks in 2005 and 2007.
