Vic: Ex-lawyer jailed for seven years over $185m tax scam
A former Melbourne lawyer .. who set up bogus investment schemes to defraud the Commonwealth
of 185 million dollars .. has been jailed for seven years.
57 year old PETER AMBROSY of East Malvern allegedly promoted schemes which claimed
false tax losses from the tax office between 1997 and 1999.
He's been sentenced in the Victorian Supreme Court to seven years jail today .. with
a minimum term of five years .. after pleading guilty to three counts of defrauding the
Commonwealth.
